Big Business Gets Bigger Bill: US Gov't Targets High Tech Visa Abusers The Department of Homeland Security has announced plans to increase fees for H 1B and L 1 visas for large employers.
The move, which could take effect as early as July, will see companies with over 50 employees in the US pay an additional $4,000 for H 1B petitions or $4,500 for L 1 petitions when seeking to extend the stay of foreign workers.
The increase is part of the 9 11 Response and Biometric Entry Exit Fee, which was first introduced to fund programs connected with the government's biometric entry exit system.
